On November 16, 2021, the NYS Laborers Council held a Build Renewables Summit in Rochester, New York. The New York State Laborers’ Union represents over 40,000 members employed in the construction industry and other fields throughout the state. The conference highlighted the opportunities that large scale wind and solar renewable energy projects offer significant benefits to construction trades and unions working in New York. Jim was invited to speak regarding the recently enacted Section 94-c siting process and other federal, state and local laws that may be impeding renewable energy development in New York and proposed legislative or other fixes to the issues. The conference was highlighted by a keynote speech by Doreen Harris, President and CEO of NYSERDA. A video of the conference can be found here.
