Posted on March 4, 2024
Dynamic duo Jessica Ansert Klami and Laura Bomyea Darling will represent Young/Sommer’s energy practice at this year’s American Clean Power Siting Conference, where they will present a poster titled “Powering and Repowering New York’s Energy Future.” Slated for March 11-13, 2024, in Colorado Springs, ACP Siting draws stakeholders from across the renewable energy industry to discuss regulatory, environmental, and other challenges faced as states transition to green energy. Laura and Jessica will offer insights and thoughts on recent developments in the Empire State’s approach to transmission siting and permitting, including the proposed RAPID Act (https://www.governor.ny.gov/news/governor-hochul-announces-energy-affordability-plan-and-actions-accelerate-clean-energy-future). They will also address emerging issues facing New York’s legacy onshore wind projects as operating turbines near the end of their useful lives, and developers consider strategies to replace or repower them.
