Steve represents individuals, businesses, and government clients in a wide range of civil matters throughout New York.  He has over 16 years of litigation experience and has successfully helped clients navigate various legal issues and challenges in New York in federal and state courts.

Prior to joining Young / Sommer LLC, Steve’s practice concentrated on counseling and defending clients accused of negligence, breach of contract, professional malpractice and misconduct, and civil rights violations.

Early in his career, Steve served as an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York, where he defended the City and its employees as a member of the Manhattan Trial Unit and the Special Federal Litigation division. He then entered private practice, representing corporations and individuals from the earliest stages of litigation through verdicts and appeals.

After graduating from Siena College, Steve attended Brooklyn Law School, where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, Trial Advocacy Division.

Steve has lectured for the New York State Bar Association and has presented several continuing legal education courses on deposition tactics, investigative techniques, electronic discovery, and the role of social media in civil litigation.

Steve was named an Upstate New York Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2015-2022.
